Accessibility statement
Last updated October 10, 2026
We want everyone to be able to order a kit, follow the guided bake and manage their account at splashbaking.com, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, voice control, or reduced-motion settings.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across the whole site, and we check new work against it before it goes live.
How we check
- Every page is tested automatically against WCAG 2.2 AA at desktop and phone sizes, including at 320 pixels wide.
- We test with the keyboard alone: every link, button and form can be reached and used, with a visible focus outline.
- We check how the site reads to screen readers: page structure, labels, and announcements when something changes, like a cart total or a new baking step.
- Text, form fields and focus outlines meet WCAG contrast minimums.
What's built in
- A "Skip to content" link on every page, and clear headings and landmarks.
- Every looping video has a pause button, and videos don't autoplay if your device is set to reduce motion. Other animations and smooth scrolling respect that setting too.
- The guided bake at /bake works with the keyboard, announces each step and timer to screen readers, and lets you add time to a wait instead of racing it. Voice control is optional; every voice command has a button.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors say what's wrong and take you to the field that needs fixing.
- The site works when zoomed to 200% and on narrow screens without scrolling sideways, and respects your own text spacing settings.
Known limitations
- Payment happens on Stripe's secure checkout page, and Apple Pay and Google Pay buttons come from Stripe. Stripe maintains the accessibility of those pages.
- Sign in with Google or Apple opens Google's or Apple's own sign-in pages.
- Our Instagram and TikTok links go to those apps, which we don't control.
If any of these gets in your way, email us and we'll help you finish your order another way.
Tell us if something doesn't work
If you run into a barrier anywhere on the site, or need information in a different format, email hello@splashbaking.com with "Accessibility" in the subject. Tell us the page and what happened if you can. A real person on our small team reads every message, and we aim to reply within two business days. We can also take your order by email.
