Terms of service
Last updated October 2, 2026
These terms apply when you use splashbaking.com or buy from Splash Baking ("Splash", "we", "us"), a family business in Chicago, Illinois. By placing an order or creating an account, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
Drops and orders
- We bake in small batches and sell them in "drops". Each drop has a limited number of kits, sold first come, first served. Joining the waitlist does not reserve a kit.
- Your order is confirmed when payment goes through and you receive a confirmation. Until then, a kit in your cart is not held for you.
- If something goes wrong after you pay (for example a drop oversells, or a price was clearly listed in error), we will tell you and give you a full refund for anything we can't send.
- We may limit quantities per order or per person so more people get a kit.
Prices, tax and payment
- Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax, where it applies, and shipping are calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Discount codes have their own conditions, can't be exchanged for cash, and can't be combined unless we say so.
Shipping
- We ship within the United States only.
- Delivery estimates are estimates. Once a carrier has your package, delays are outside our control, but we will help you chase a late package.
- Please double-check addresses, including for gifts. If a package is returned or lost because of an incorrect address, we can re-send it at your cost.
If something is wrong with your order
Because our kits are food, we can't accept returns. But if your kit arrives damaged, incomplete or wrong, or doesn't arrive, email hello@splashbaking.com within 7 days of delivery (or of the expected delivery date) with your order details and, if possible, a photo. We will replace it or refund you.
Food safety and allergens
- Ingredients and allergens are listed on each product page and on the kit. The Everything contains wheat, milk, egg, soy and almond (tree nut), and our kits are made in a kitchen that may also handle other allergens. If you or someone you're baking for has a food allergy, read the label before baking.
- Kits are meant to be baked. Follow the instructions in the kit and on our baking guide; don't eat the dough raw.
- Store kits as the label says and use them by the date printed on them.
- Ovens vary and hot trays are hot. Bake with the usual kitchen care, and supervise children.
Kit rewards
When our kit rewards program is running, your account page shows it. It works like a punch card:
- Every 10th kit you buy is free. Kits count once their order has shipped, on orders placed with the email address on your account. Free kits and refunded orders don't count.
- Use a free kit by signing in and ticking "Use your free kit" in your cart. It takes off the price of one kit, can't be combined with a discount code, and has no cash value.
- If an order that used a free kit is fully refunded, the free kit goes back to your account.
- We may change or end the program. If we end it, we'll give you notice and time to use any free kit you've already earned.
Accounts
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
- We may suspend or close accounts used for fraud, abuse, or to get around per-person limits.
Photos and things you send us
When you send us a photo of your bake and tick the box allowing us to share it, you give Splash a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to post it on our website and social media, credited with the name you gave us, and to make small edits like cropping. Only send photos you took or have the right to share. Ask us at any time and we'll take a photo down from our own channels.
Use of the website
Please don't misuse the site: no attempts to break in, overload it, scrape it in bulk, buy up drops with bots, or interfere with other people's orders. The site's content, including our name, logo, recipes, photos and writing, belongs to Splash or our licensors, and our kit design is patent pending. You may share links and screenshots for personal, non-commercial use.
Disclaimers and limits
We work hard to make great kits and keep the site running, but the site is provided "as is" and may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. To the fullest extent the law allows, Splash is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be limited by contract.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply to orders placed after they're posted.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. If we have a dispute, let's first try to sort it out by email. If that fails, it will be handled by the courts in Cook County, Illinois, unless your local consumer law says otherwise.
